Meet Your Neighbor Janelle Lynn Turner.
Janelle lives in Stronghurst but was born in Geneseo and raised in Hooppole.
She is 17 and a junior at West Central High School where she is active in FFA and a member of National Honor Society.
When you stop in at FS you may find Janelle either as cashier, or occasionally helping out in the pizza kitchen, where she is employed part time.
Janelle is president of the Stronghurst Hustlers 4-H Club and helps the rest of her family with raising sheep. She said, "I don't even mind going out to the farm at 2:00 a.m. to help feed or whatever needs to be done."
Her family raises sheep to sell and show. They raise and market Dorsetts and crossbreeds to 50 to 60 pounds and even full grown. A hobby of hers is taking photos and putting them on their website www.clublambpage.com/turnershowlambs/
Janelle's parents are Pastor Gene and Rhonda Turner and she has a sister, Kimberly (16), a sophomore at West Central High School, and one brother, Erick (13), who is in the 6th grade at West Central Middle School.
She enjoys music, reading Nicholas Sparks novels, working (which takes up much of her time), baking, and shopping at South Park Mall in Moline. But her eyes light up as she tells that her favorite thing to do is drive BIG trucks!
Her birthday is always a memorable occasion since she shares the date of September 10 with her dad, great-grandpa, great uncle and great-great uncle.
