City Council Hears Oct 2nd Is Fall Clean-Up

The La Harpe City Council met August 24th for their regular 7 p.m. meeting and heard that the Public Works Committee has set October 2nd for the fall city-wide clean-up.

The board hired two new police officers, Dean Spangler for the full time position, and Kayla Brooks for the part-time police officer position.

Actual applications for the Housing Grant will be accepted on September 22nd beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Senior Citizen Center.

It was heard that there are several sidewalks in the city being looked at for repair and/or replacement.

Mayor Ken Brown, City Clerk Lucretia McPeak and all aldermen were present along with guests: Dan Gillett, Charles Cecil, Eric Moe, and Doug Endres.

Regular meeting adjourned at 7:51 pm. The next council meeting will be September 14th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
