Kendra Kelly of Biggsville and her horse, "Sizzle," along with her friend, Amber Lock, of Oquawka traveled to McGee Park, Famington, New Mexico in July to participate in the National High School Rodeo Finals.
Over 1,500 contestants stayed on the rodeo grounds to compete in the week-long event. Each contestant had qualified to be there by finishing in the top 4 in their event at the state level. Kendra competed in barrels and poles and placed for the finals in poles. Kendra's parents, Cork and Denise went along and they all enjoyed the trip.
