Meet Your Neighbor

by Misty Huston, Quill Reporter

Meet your neighbor, Caitlain Brown, who is sweet sixteen and resides in Keithsburg.

Caitlain currently works at Charlie's Country Fun for her uncle Charlie, the owner, on Highway 34 in rural Biggsville, as a waitress. She has worked there since she was fifteen.

Caitlain was born in Galesburg and raised in her current home in Keithsburg.

She will be a junior at Mercer County high school, formerly known as Westmer, this fall. She is involved in a variety of activities at school including: cheerleading, the school play and scholastic bowl.

When she graduates from High School she plans to attend college and pursue a career in carpentry. When asked how she came to choose this particular profession she replied, "I enrolled in a carpentry class my freshman year of high school just because I thought it would be an easy class, but I absolutely fell in love with it and knew that's what I wanted to pursue as a career."

Caitlain is the daughter of Bill and Judy Brown. She has one sister, Erika, who is seventeen.

In her spare time Caitlain enjoys riding 4-wheelers and hanging out with friends.

Some of her favorite memories are from family get togethers at Christmas and Thanksgiving. She says they are a very close family and always get together to celebrate those holidays.
