Letters to Editor

Stronghurst High School Class Of 1970

Dear Editor:

Let's see some attendance at the 2009 Alumni Banquet, June 27. We are "39 and Holding" once again.

You should have all received your announcements by now.

I have attended off and on in the past and have been the only one from our class...dining with my brother-in-law from Class of "71

(they don't have very good attendance either).

The work's done for us-date, place and time, invitations sent and menu selected and you know we haven't been doing a very good job of getting together on our own.

So let's make it an "Early 40th Class Reunion"

Don't forget to bring pictures of kids and grandkids.

Dear Editor:

Last week's Quill had an advertisement on the last page from planned parenthood.

I would encourage all of your readers to research planned parenthood's foundress, Margaret Sanger. In 1922, she wrote, ""The most merciful thing that a family does to one of it's infant members is to kill it'?"

In addition, her motives in promoting birth control were very racist.

I would also encourage your readers to obtain a copy of Humanae Vitae as a good resource for the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death.

Sincerely,

Galen D. Baxter
