Losing a Best Friend

Another good friend, and former Pastor's wife, Eveyln Peterson, has left her earthly home in Fort Collins, CO to be in her heavenly home.

Evelyn was a saint. I can't imagine her ever having an enemy for she was kind and helpful, always wearing a smile, and trying to help in any way she could.

She was also a very good cook and made the best strawberry freezer jam you could ever want. She and I shared good times as our children grew up together having Easter Egg hunts, pot luck dinners, playing games, exercising, drinking tea, shopping, singing and sometimes playing pranks. Like the time she and her friends came over to make me turkey and rice soup for my anniversary as a precursor to the "Don't let the turkeys get you down," mug they had wrapped up for me reminding me of the time the neighbors turkeys had gotten into my yard and I was carrying on about it. Although she has moved on to a perfect home, I carry special memories until we meet again.
