Lookin' For The Sunshine!

by Dessa Rodeffer

I am so anxious for the sun to come out - and stay out!

When we have a sunny day, we know Easter is not too far away, but lately, the day after the sun - it snows!

Today, I was planning a nice sunny drive to Chicago and what do you know, the clouds and snow are back.

At least in Colorado, where I am flying to visit my daughter for her birthday, it is predicted to be warmer later in the week, but I seem to be taking the snow with me as it is snowing there through Thursday.

With the clouds and the dreary weather, brings a lot of depression, as well as colds, flu, and sickness, anxiety. It actually makes problems seem bigger than they are.

I think if we look ahead to Spring, for it always comes, with its sunshine, budding trees, green grass, plowing of the fields, return of the Robin, we can be hopeful.

My mother always sang her way through dreary days. It actually made the whole household happier. The Gospel chorus I remember her singing as she washed the family dishes, was... "It took a miracle, to put the stars in place. It took a miracle to hang the world in space. But when He saved my soul, cleansed and made me whole, It took a miracle of love and grace." Now, don't you feel better?
