Village Of Biggsville

Minutes of the regular meeting, September 3, 2008.

The board met in regular session with President Dale Allenbaugh presiding and the following present: Trustees-Brian Cochran, Marilyn Evans, Jennifer Hopkins, and Brian Sterett. Absent-Gloria Minard and Bob Onion. Treasurer-Gloria Jones. Clerk-Frank Jones. Maintenance Man-Jeff Lant

President Dale Allenbaugh opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. Flag.

Roll call was called by Clerk Frank Jones.

Dale Allenbaugh reported the village is in a holding pattern for the water project funding until October 2008 when the new 2009 funding year begins.

The village engineer asked the board to be thinking of what kind of building they would like to house the controls.

Minutes of the regular meeting were read by Clerk Frank Jones. Brian Sterett moved the minutes stand approved as read and seconded by Marilyn Evans. Roll was called and all present voted yes.

The board discussed areas that needed cleaned up. The property on West Main Street and the Purchase property on East Main were discussed. Brian Cochran suggested to have the village attorney send a letter to both owners. Dale Allenbaugh will provide the details to the attorney.

Gloria Jones presented the treasurer's report. Brian Sterett moved the treasurer's report be approved as presented and seconded by Jennifer Hopkins. Roll was called and all present voted yes.

Bills were read by Clerk Frank Jones. Brian Sterett moved the bills be paid as read and seconded by Brian Cochran that orders be drawn on the treasurer for the same. Roll was called and all present voted yes.

Reports-

Lights-Jeff Lant advised the board the Christmas lights are in bad shape. Dale Allenbaugh will check on purchasing or repairing options from other light owners.

The board will repair lights after the October meeting. Any interested citizens are invited to help on this project. This will probably start around 8:30 p.m. on October 1.

Public Relations-Dale Allenbaugh said there were about 35 people at the picnic.

Streets-Jeff Lant said the truck needs tire chains, a spare tire, and new tires before winter. Jeff will price tires.

Water-Dale Allenbaugh brought four different gallons of water for a taste test. The water was from Biggsville (softened), Biggsville (osmosis), Monmouth, and bottled water. All that tasted had a different opinion.

Zoning-Dale Allenbaugh had copies made of the 2004 Zoning Ordinance for all trustees to have their own copy.

New Business-

The president, clerk and treasurer will work with the attorney on tax assessments.

Dale Allenbaugh said the village needs a storage building if one is available to store equipment.

The next regular meeting will be on Wednesday, October 1, at 7 p.m. at the Biggsville Community Building.
