West Central Homecoming Candidates

Students at West Central High School made their selections for Homecoming Candidates and Court for their 2008 Homecoming.

The freshmen escorts are Ali Postle and Austin Bigger.

Ali is the daughter of Scott and Tami Postle. She is a student council representative and participates in volleyball, basketball, and band.

Ali plans to enjoy high school and then attend the University of Illinois to major in the medical field.

Austin Bigger is the son of Cindy Fedler and Phillip Bigger. He participates in golf, student council, and basketball.

After high school he plans to go to college for engineering and also would like to travel to different countries.

Sophomore escorts selected by their class are Hillary Pence and Zach Shinberger.

Hillary, the daughter of Mike and Carla Pence, is active in volleyball and softball. She is also an FFA officer.

Her future plans are to attend a four-year college followed by medical school.

The son of Todd and Kim Shinberger, Zach is involved in baseball. Zach's true love, however, is football. He enjoys playing with his friends on the field.

His ambitions are to drive or pilot an Air Craft Carrier for the Navy. If this does not work, he plans to go into construction.

Junior escorts for Homecoming 2008 are Brandie Pullen and Colton Smith.

Brandi Pullen is the daughter of Lori Pullen. Her future plans are to go to school for Broadcast Journalism and Photography.

Colton Smith, the son of Jeff and Lari Jo Smith, enjoys football, weightlifting, and FFA. His future plans are to go to college to become a lineman.

Returning to pass on the honors to this year's Homecoming Queen and King are the 2007 honorees, Abby Corzatt and Dalton Chandler.

Accompanying Abby and Dalton are the Homecoming 2008 tiara bearer and crown bearer.

Molly Johnson is the Homecoming 2008 tiara bearer for the coronation ceremony.

Molly is the daughter of Tyler and Natalie Blindt. With her is Max Carnes, son of Jason and Stephanie Carnes. Max has the honor of presenting the official Homecoming 2008 football to the King during the coronation ceremonies.

The senior class selected eight unique and talented individuals as candidates for Homecoming Queen and King.

They are Hannah Alecock, Ben Hawk, Ashley Coffey, Zach Hill, Shayna Perry, Layton Housman, Ashley Rice, and Drue Waterman.

Hannah is the daughter of Mike Alecock and Joni Alecock. She is active in volleyball, Spanish club, yearbook staff, art club, drama club, student council, and FBLA.

Hannah plans to attend Western Illinois University to become a Home Economics teacher, and to one day make pigs fly.

Ben Hawk is active in football, FFA, National Honor Society, weightlifting, and is on the WYSE team.

Ben is the son of Jim and Anita Hawk and after graduation he plans to attend a four year college.

The daughter of Merle and Susan Coffey, Ashley Coffey is active in basketball and National Honor Society. She also played softball for two years and was the Junior Class Secretary.

Ashley plans on majoring in the medical field and hopes to play college basketball.

Zach Hill is the son of Tami Hainds and Rob Hill. He has participated in golf for four years, basketball for two years, and baseball for two years.

His future plans are a career in a medical-related field.

Shayna Perry is the daughter of Don and Connie Perry. Shayna is active in FBLA and has been a class officer.

She plans to attend Kirkwood Community College and then transfer to the University of Iowa to major in a medical field.

The son of Jeff Housman and Connie and Jared Jacobs, Layton Housman is active in basketball.

After graduation Layton plans to go to college and major in either Law or Business.

Ashley Rice, daughter of Curtis and Lisa Rice, has been active in volleyball, football and basketball cheerleading, and student council.

After graduation she plans to attend college and double major in exercise science and athletic training.

Drue Waterman is the son of David and Vickie Waterman. Drue stays busy with football, basketball, baseball, and FFA.

Drue plans to attend Western Illinois University after graduation.
