Meet Your Neighbor

By Susan Galbraith, Quill Staff

Meet your neighbor Linda Reaves of Oquawka.

Linda has lived in Oquawka and been employed at the Oquawka Banking Center for 36 years and is presently a Personal Banking Officer.

She was born in Burlington, Iowa, to Bud and Elaine Nelson and raised in Gladstone. Her father lives in Oquawka and her mother is deceased.

Linda graduated from Union High School in 1971 and Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa, in 1972.

She is happily married to Dennis, her husband of 30 years. They have two daughters, Rhiannon, who lives in Chicago and a psychologist at Little City in Palatine, and Ashley, a registered dental hygienist at Eagle View Health Center in Macomb.

A sister, Beverly (Ed) Collier, lives in Oquawka with their two sons, Brian and Jeff; one brother, David (Shelly) live in Oquawka with their three children, Tyler, Bailey, and Mallory.

Linda is involved as a volunteer on the Carl Sandburg Advisory Board, a trustee with the Henderson County Humane Society where she is chair of the voucher program and serves as a trustee of the Oquawka Cemetery.

In her spare time she and sis, Bev, love to go on day trips together and making fun memories.

She and Dennis also love getting away to visit Rhiannon, in Chicago, and taking in the sites of the city.
