Meet you neighbor Janet Bohnenkamp of Stronghurst. Janet has been employed as a full time cook at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab for approximately one month. She previously worked for two years as a cake decorator at Wal-Mart and at Kline's in Burlington, Iowa, as a nutrition aide. Janet was born and raised in Burlington, IA and graduated from Burlington High School in 1973. She and husband, Michael, have been married for 1 year. She is the proud mother of two daughters, Suzanne (Brian) Rice, who recently moved to Florida and is an LPN, and Heather, who is a college senior at Western Illinois University in Macomb. She has been blessed with one grandson, Brandon Rice (5), who is in kindergarten. Janet has a step-son, Bryan Bohnenkamp, who is employed at the Stronghurst elevator. Her parents Don and Anne Hensley are both deceased. Janet's sisters are, Leanne, Ginny (deceased) Mary Beth (Ron), and Carrie (Darrell). She enjoys sewing, especially blankets, quilting, crafts and decorating cakes for special occasions. Janet is a member of the Stronghurst Christian Church. A funny experience that Janet recalls is a time when she and her sister, Carrie was home with their mom when mom decided she wanted to go camping. The family got all ready and packed the pop-up camper. The girls giggled so much they moved to the car to sleep. Then their mom and dad could sleep. Needless to say the sisters didn't get much sleep in their parents car either. |
