Dear Editor,
On November 4, 2008 residents of Illinois (as well as the rest of the country) will be voting in the Presidential Election.
In addidition to voting for candidates for various offices, we in Illinois, will be asked whether to have, or not have, a state constitutional convention.
One of the issues proposed for the convention is to implement a tax on pension payments. I assume that would include Social Security.
One of the benefits of retiring in Illinois is that your pension payments are not taxed by the State of Illinois.
Whether you are retired or not, this issue will eventually affect YOU.
Don't give the politicians a chance to touch our retirement pay.
VOTE NO to a state constitutional convention.
