His parents are Olive and the late Clyde Bailey.
He graduated from Union High School in 1977.
After graduation Chuck started farming with his dad on the family farm where he and his family continue to reside and work the family farm.
He met and married Gayle Walker and they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year.
They have two daughters, Bekah that lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Leah who is a junior at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a son, Kyle who is a senior in high school.
Chuck has one brother, Gary (Janice) Bailey of Mission, Texas and two sisters, Beverly (Joe) Zielke of Little York and Barb (Darrell) Lathrop of Oquawka.

He says, "I am very thankful for the Lord sparing my life after my heart attack. I know that the Lord isn't finished working in my life". Chuck now has a whole new outlook on life.
He and his family have vacationed in Yellowstone, Glacier National Park and in California. His favorite time was when he was able to climb the rock in Yosemite National park.
