Meet your neighbor Kim Johnson. She is the French and Spanish teacher at Illini West High School. Students at IWHS look forward to Johnson's class. Her easy-going style of teaching and laid back personality makes her popular among the school's student body. She has previously taught math at Davenport Schools and elementary Spanish at Iowa Falls schools. Johnson is the daughter of Patricia and Larry Johnson. She grew up in Indianola, IA. Both Johnson's parents were teachers. She graduated from Indianola High School and went on to graduate from college at Simpson College. Johnson and Mike Hays have raised three children; Bryan(17, Tucker(15), and Kathryn(11). She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and with her friends. She is very interested in traveling and was an exchange student to Sweden. She has traveled to France, Greece, and Costa Rica. She inspires many of her students to one day go abroad and has a large hand in helping them to understand the languages that are necessary to be successful overseas. |
