The La Harpe City Council members met at 7 p.m. Monday, October 27th for their regular meeting with all Aldermen present.
Guests were: Dan Gillett, Claude Collins, Melvin Lotz, Larry Crim, Richard Rasmussen, Larry Hobby, Kevin Wiehardt, Randy Shoemaker, Sandra Perry, Jody Perry, Ruth Sarley, Darrell Kraft, and Doug Endres.
Kevin Wiehardt with WIRC went over the meeting held earlier for the Housing grant. Once the surveys are complete, the grant can proceed, he said.
Motions were passed (Resolutions 2008-3; 2008-4; 2008-5 and 2008-6) regarding the application, and committing local funds for the Housing grant project.
The council also renewed Casey's liquor license.
The 2nd reading of the Tax Levy Ordinance was waived.
Darrell Kraft thanked everyone involved for helping with the "Veteran's Memorial" in the city park.
Johnson's committee met Wednesday, October 22, and decided to lease the farming ground every 3 years beginning March 1st , and the hunting ground every 5 years beginning March 1st .
The treasurers report and payment of bills were approved and the meeting adjourned at 7:48 pm.
