Meet your La Harpe neighbors - Mike and Barbara Floyd.
Mike Floyd was born on February 1, 1953 in Vivian, Louisiana to LC and Faye Floyd. He has 3 sisters, Billie Faye, Janice Elaine and Tammie Lynn and 1 brother, Arnold Gene.
Barbara was born on January 20, 1954 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Charles and Charlene Rose. As a small child, she grew up in Louisiana because of her father's military life. She has two brothers, Charles James (deceased) and Kenneth Wayne.
They married on August 17, 1973 and have lived in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Alaska, Wisconsin and Illinois.
They have five children, John, Rachel, Matthew, Sarah and Mark. They have 2 grandkids, Jacob, age 2 and Lucy, age 5 months.
Over the years, Mike has been employed as a meat cutter and fashion consultant; however, his heart is in his ministry.
Barbara has worked for Kraft Pizza Company, making Tombstone pizzas for over 13 years and currently works for K & C Enterprises in La Harpe.
Her heart has also been in the ministry, where she leads Praise and Worship. She also enjoys being a mother.
The couple moved to the La Harpe area in January 2007 from Wisconsin, when they felt the "Lord calling them to serve in this area".
Together, they have participated in the ministry field for 36 years serving as Evangelist, Associate Pastors and Pastors of many churches.
They are active participants in Bible Study on Wednesday nights for Crossroads Full Gospel Ministry in Burlington, Iowa and filling the pulpit at various churches for Revival Services, Sunday services and other needs.
Together, they serve as a team. Mike in the Pastoral/teaching role and Barbara as a Praise and Worship leader, using her talent of piano playing.
She has also taught Bible School and Sunday School classes.
In their spare time, Barbara enjoys quilting, sewing and playing music on the piano. Mike enjoys fishing and watching Westerns and Christian Family movies. Although time is limited, they take full advantage of their spare time.
Stop by and say hello La Harpe and introduce yourselves to Mike and Barbara Floyd.
