Scouting For Food

Local Scouts have joined in the national Good Turn for America with the Scouting for Food Drive.

Annually, your local Boy Scouts of America collect food to help feed the hungry within the Shoquoquon District which includes parts of Henderson County.

The "Scouting for Food" Good Turn Food Drive launches Saturday, March 8th. Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts go door-to-door distributing bags for the collection of nonperishable food items to bring a much needed replenishing to local food pantries.

Saturday, March 15th, Scouts will return to pick up filled collection bags. Residents are asked to place their donations outside their doors by 9:00 a.m.

Those who do not receive a collection bag, but would like to contribute, may drop off food donations at the local Boy Scout Office.

Most needed are nutritional, nonperishable food items such as baby formula, peanut butter, complete packaged meals, and canned goods.
