Karla Bowman, Small World Board Vice President, Sarah Elswick, Secretary, Sherry Gullberg, Preschool teacher, Amanda Jack, Director gather to welcome visitors Sunday afternoon to an Open House that celebrates 25 years of Child Care in Stronghurst. It began renting the United Methodist Church fellowship room when they nightly had to pick up all items to having their own facility in the former Vern and Ruth Wood home. This year, they plan on paying their mortgage off and they have done many improvements with the help of fundraisers, grants and donations. Neighbors Dotty Bird and Karen Dehner former residents, were the first organizers. Dotty was the first teacher.
