To Receive 40 Cent Water Hike May 1st
The Raritan Village Board learned through a letter they had received from Dallas Rural Water that their village water rates to customers will be going up effective May 1, 2008 from 2.10 per 1000 gallons to 2.50 per 1000 gallons.
The president and trustees met in the meeting room of the Raritan Fire House Thursday, April 10, 2008, with Trustees Blender, Powless, Knapp, Magee and Anders answering roll call.
Trustee Jim Blender opened with prayer. Minutes of the last meeting were approved by motion of Trustee Powless, second Trustee Anders. Motion carried.
Bills presented were approved in the amount of $5,658.51 for payment as follows:
Salaries for officers $4,180.00; PDC $13.50; Julie $15.60; Dennis Rankin $129.20; Dallas Rural Water $456.67; WM $754.80; Phil Anders $94.00; Mike Knapp $194.74 ladder. Motion Blender, second Magee, to pay above bills. Motion carried.
It was decided to table letter to Hensley until next meeting.
Trustee Anders will put lag screws in Christmas poles.
Jay Blender was present about the mowing of the park, Kahl property and water tank area. This year the Huss property will have to be mowed also. Motion Magee, second Powless to hire Jay Blender to mow the above for $145 per mowing. This includes spraying and trimming where needed. Motion carried. Trustee Blender abstained from voting.
Motion Trustee Powless, second Trustee Magee, to approve building permits as submitted by the Zoning Committee for Steve Wisslead and Byron Arnold. Motion carried.
Motion Trustee Blender, second Trustee Anders, and unanimous approval the meeting was adjourned until the next regular meeting night. Motion carried.
