Although cold spells continue to befall our area, the best part of Spring is right around the corner.
No one is more excited than Mike and Kim Peters of Peters Greenhouse in Lomax, who are in their sixth year of business..
The turn of a new year marked the hands on portion of operations at the greenhouse as Kim and the staff at Peters Greenhouse began to plant the seeds and make sure the facility is in its finest form to ensure a perfect environment for the plants.
Preparation for the upcoming year actually began last year, as most of their inventory had to be purchased a year in advance to ensure having certain types of plants and in all the desired colors.
All that hard work will pay off as they will open up their doors this weekend, April 19th and 20th for an Open House at their location in Lomax.
Peters Greenhouse has an expanse campus boasting six greenhouses that are 100 feet long, carrying a wide assortment of vegetables and flowers, which is sure to keep anyone with a green thumb satisfied.
During their Open House, they will have specials on selected items, such as $1 off baskets, and $2.50 off of geraniums.
If you don't get a chance to stop in during the Open House, you can also check out their outlet at Menards in West Burlington, Iowa, and of course, you may stop in during regular business hours throughout the day.
