The Community Fun In Halloween

by Dessa Rodeffer, Quill Publisher/Owner

I suppose no one wants to hear the word "discipline" around Halloween, but that is exactly what keeps this event a fun community event rather than an out of hand problem for the community.

I was pleased to hear that the Stronghurst Christian Church was taking part in a fun way and that is having their cars parked all around the church with their trunks open with treats inside. They are calling it:

"Tricks and Trunks!"

The invitation says:

"Come to Stronghurst Christian Church at dusk on Wednesday, October 31. Warm up after you have gone trick or treating or come and get treats inside. We will have cars lined up around the church filled with treats in the trunks! Inside we will have a cake walk and all kinds of games! Warm up with some hot chocolate and a cookie. We look forward to seeing you there!"

The Stronghurst Lions Club is another group helping the evening to be a success. They are hosting a wiener roast with chips and drink at the park prior to the event. With the assistant of a caring community and the watchful eye of parents, Halloween can be a lot of fun for all.
