Where Does It Come From?

I've been asked by my doctors to walk, run, or do whatever it takes daily to get my heart rate up each day for a healthier me.

So, I've found I have been off and on again with getting regular exercise. The problem is, I talk myself out of exercising with the excuse I haven't enough time or I have more pressing matters.

The truth is, I have found if I just do it without discussing it with myself, I can find the time and I feel a lot better.

My idea is taking the NIKE logo JUST DO IT!, and printing it on a big poster board next to my treadmill. Once I get the Just Do It! notion in my head, all the arguments I have with myself about why I can't do it, disappears.

Norman Vincent Peale, gives a few quotes to help nudge us into action as well.

"Throw your heart over the fence and the rest will follow."

"Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you can not be successful or happy."

And here is a good one for your work... "Think enthusiastically about everything, but especially about your job. If you do, you'll put a touch of glory in your life. If you love your job with enthusiasm, you'll shake it to pieces. You'll love it into greatness."

I think motivation has to start from within where you really want to make a change in your life and make your life count for something.

I have known for sometime that if we keep on doing the same things we have always done, we will keep on getting the same things we've always gotten. We have to motivate ourselves and make a change if we want a better life.

I would say the best way to make it happen is take the NIKE approach and JUST DO IT!
