Meet Your Neighbors

by Holly Willdrick, Quill Staff

Meet your neighbor, Betty Jo McConnell, born in La Harpe Hospital and has lived in Ft. Green all her life.

She graduated from La Harpe High School and went on to attend Robert Morris College where she graduated with a degree in Administrative Secretarial in 1989.

While she attended Robert Morris College she worked for the Challenge Public out of Carthage as the typesetter.

She has been employed at First State Bank in La Harpe for the past six years in the data processing department.

Betty Jo is from a family of 11 children, herself being number ten.

One of her favorite childhood memories is when they would all gather to watch a movie and eat popcorn and apples on Sunday night.

She has one daughter, Caryn (Justin) Royer who lives in Jacksonville, with their son, Mason (11 months).

In her free time Betty Jo enjoys reading, walking, and creative writing. She's a member of the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church where she serves as an Elder.

Betty Jo is looking forward to being a part of the Quill staff and being able to get out and be involved with the community.
