Meet Your Neighbor Marsha Wilcoxen, the assistant manger of The Highway Family Restaurant in La Harpe.
Marsha and her son, Brandon, live in Macomb. He is in the third grade and attends Calvary Baptist School in Macomb.
Marsha graduated from Bushnell Prairie City High School in 1987.
When Marsha was 14 years old she cared for her neighbor which gave her the caring compassion to become a nurse.
This led her to work as a CNA for the Macomb Senior Living Center and to attend Spoon River College for nursing Taking a break from school she became the assistant manager of The Family Restaurant in Hamilton and after the owner purchased the restaurant in La Harpe, he offered Marsha the assistant manager position.
Marsha's future plan is to go back to college next fall and finish her dream of becoming a nurse.
What Marsha likes best about working in La Harpe is the people, "They are so nice."
The community has been so supportive and her staff is great to work with, she says.
Marsha meets and greets each customer with a smile.
"I enjoy taking care of the customers," she says.
Marsha enjoys reading, shopping, watching movies, and being outdoors.
The greatest blessing in her life is her son and spending time with him. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
