Illini West Collected 91 Units of Blood

Official Board Meeting

The Illini West Ag Department sponsored the first of two scheduled blood drives and collected over 91 units of blood.

A second blood drive will be scheduled for later in the year.

The Illini West FFA has 125 members and is continuing to strive toward a goal of 147 members. The Illini West Agriculture Department is also in the process of developing an agriculture advisory board to help guide this charter membership.

Kayla Bess reported on the various student activities during the first Illini West homecoming.

The Student Council is also in the process of creating a new student government to increase student involvement in the success of Illini West.

Ray Driskell reported that every teacher has a website with posted homework thanks in part to the technological expertise of Diane Pepple who helped teachers in the webpage development process.

Dr. Lewis updated the board on the staff development opportunities in the area of technology which included Mimeo and Questia, a 25,000 volume online library to aide in student and teacher research endeavors.

Renalto Sturlic was hired as a study hall aide and Lorilei Klein was hired as a part time clerical assistant.

An intergovernmental agreement was approved with the Carthage Park Board that allows Illini West baseball and softball teams to use the ball diamonds.

There will no longer be a pass gate for football games. Passes will be honored at any entrance gate.

The next regular board meeting will be November 14th.
