Meet Your Neighbor Kathryn Boyd of Roseville, a new teacher at West Central Middle School in Stronghurst. She teaches 7th grade language arts and literature. She was born in Flint, Michigan, and raised in Michigan, Virginia, and Illinois. She graduated from Woodstock High School in 2001 and from Western Illinois University in 2007 with degrees in elementary education and special education. Kathryn's parents are Cindy and Brian Boyd. Cindy is the music minister at St. Mary's Church in Woodstock and Brian is the Human Resources Manager at CPM in Madison, Wisconsin. She has one brother, Alex. Kathryn enjoys traveling. In the last year she has been to Colorado, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. She loves animals and has three dogs, one cat and one hamster. Kathryn volunteers at Angel in Colchester, with a therapeutic writing group. She also loves riding horses. She has trained and ridden horses for the past 14 years. Teaching is also at the top of her list of things she thoroughly enjoys. Her hobbies are baking, and reading scary stories. |
