At the Village of Gladstone Board meeting September 10, board members voted to replace the late Robert Swanson, as Village Committee Chairperson on Lights Chair with Byran Sebastian.
Those in attendance at the Gladstone Community Building were: Mayor Rex McKinney, Jim Hetrick, Joyce Hetrick, Darlene Manes, Mike Hopkins and Byron Sebastian.
Willie Bielser was absent.
Sebastian made a motion to vacate Chestnut Street, one block west of Dallas Street and it carried.
Terry Thacker is to be contacted by Hetrick, regarding a reappointment to a five-year zoning term.
Mayor McKinney asked if the board had anyone in mind to fill the unexpired term due to Swanson's death. Hetrick mentioned Randy Goble as he has been interested in a trustee opening and has been attending all of the board meetings.
Lisa Lafary was appointed without board approval by Mayor McKinney.
Rex McKinney will contact attorney Mike Neff about burning a vacant house on Locust Street. It was formerly the McCabe house.
Mayor McKinney is to check on Ordinance #106 with regards to hog confinement restrictions within a 1.5 mile radius of Gladstone.
Mayor McKinney reported on new railmaster and he will check on who owns the spur on the north side of the tracks as it is need of repair. It may the railroad or Kurt McChesney.
Jim Hetrick reported the Village received an extension from the Illinois EPA for a water grant.
Trick or Treat night will be Wednesday, October 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
WIRC will continue to use the community as needed.
Also in regular business, the minutes and the bills were approved and checks drawn.
Meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
The board will meet in October on Monday, the 8th at 7:00 p.m. Community Building.
