RARITAN REFORM CHURCH: In August 1855, thirteen pioneer Christians together with the Rev. A.D.Wilson and S. A. Bumstead assembled at the house of S.P. Nevius for the organization of a church-Reformed Dutch Church of Honey Creek with six male members in the consistory.

A month later at Peter S. Tharp's house the Lord's Supper was administered for the first time.

That afternoon Dennis Nevius Simonson became the first child baptized.

A Sabbath school was established 1856 with I.V.Kelley as Superintendent.
