Brenda Burt is the daughter of Larry and Carol Boone and was born in Carthage. Her family moved to La Harpe when she was one and she graduated from La Harpe High School in 1979.

Her first job was at Traveler's Inn to save for her first car. In 1977 her parents purchased The 8 Ball Cafe and Pool Hall and she started working as a cook.

They moved the business to Main Street and changed the name to The Country Cafe where Brenda continued to work as head cook until they closed in 1982. Brenda went to work in the bakery for Gene & Bev's, then in 19 Bev's. In 1983 she opened Brenda's Pizza Shack on Main Street, La Harpe.

Her son was six weeks when she opened the doors and she continued to work at Gene & Bev' s. In 1984 Brenda moved the Pizza Shack to the building by the Ford Garage for another year.She then worked at Jack & Jill's and at Ayerco in La Harpe.

Brenda has sold Tupper-ware for 21 years to have the flexibility to raise her boys. She loves people and cooking she could do both. She feels blessed that she has never had to leave La Harpe for work.

Brenda married Brad Burt of La Harpe in 1988 and they have two sons Shaun Thompson and Garett Burt.

When not busy with her family and Tupperware, you may still find her in the kitchen. She loves to cook.

She likes NASCAR racing, her favorite driver being Dale Jarrett and the big brown truck. She won a Richard Petty driving experience at the Gateway International Speedway in St. Louis. She was given tickets to attend the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway with Richard Childress and Robby Gordon.

She enjoys NFL football, and is a long time 49ers fan.
