La Harpe Council Sets Summferfest, Reminds of May Clean-Up

March 12, 2007 7:00 p.m.

Those answering roll call at Monday night's La Harpe City Council Meeting were Irish, Lovell, Helmers, Bennett, Burford, Carpenter, Neff, Clerk Carol Stevens, and Mayor Kenny Brown. Also, attending the meeting were Danny Gillett, Debbie Lee, Lucretia McPeak, Attorney Richard Rasmussen, Erik Krekle, Justin Livingston, and Roger Hughes.

A reminder was noted for the date of the annual spring cleanup as May 4th and La Harpe Summerfest as August 8 thru August 11.

The results of the meeting held to open sealed bids for the hunting rights on the city's Johnson Land was given. Bids were awarded to the highest bidders for a two year lease. The motion was made and seconded to accept the recommendations of the committee.

Surveys have gone out to residents from WIRC to evaluate for the housing grant.

Debbie Lee was present to discuss with the council the controlling of unwanted pest problems in the city.

A motion was made and seconded to pass the minutes of the February meeting with one correction noted. The motion was made and seconded to approve the treasurer's report and pay all bills. Motion carried.

Adjournment was approved at 8:23 p.m. The next scheduled meeting will be at the city hall at 7:00 p.m. on March 24, 2007.
