Meet your neighbor, Steve Reed, the owner of Clover Tire Shop in La Harpe. Steve grew up in La Harpe and graduated from La Harpe High School in 1978. Right out of high school he started working at the tire shop which will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year. Clover Tire shop started out in a single stall garage just east of the Christian Church. When the shop started getting more business, they bought the old Gene and Bev's grocery store, where Time and Chime is now located. The last place the shop moved to was the Fred Gibb Chevrolet building where they still are today. On May 1, 2003, Arlin Clover, the previous owner, handed the tire shop over to Steve and his wife Debbie. Steve and Debbie have been married for 16 years and have a daughter named Kourtni who is 16. Their other two daughters are Michelle (Micah) Taylor and Mindy (Justin) Johnson. They have 6 grandchildren. In his spare time Steve likes to go on motorcycle rides with Debbie. He also enjoys four wheeling, boating, and water skiing. He has been to Talladega to watch a race and has also been through Sturgis on his Harley. Steve's favorite teams are the Chicago Bears and Cubs. |
