Meet Your Neighbors

Meet your neighbors Gary and Sherry Butler, high school sweethearts, who have been married 45 years.

The Butler's have four daughters: Debbie (Brad) McDowell, Angela (Bob) Markey, Michele (Patrick) Bakker, and Amy Butler.

They have 9 grandkids, and also some step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Sherry was born in La Harpe and grew up in the Disco area. She went to high school at Terre Haute and graduated with the last graduating class before Terre Haute High School closed down.

Gary was born in Macomb and grew up around Terre Haute. He attended grade school at North School, a one room school house, for eight years. He graduated from Terre Haute High School in 1958.

Gary has been farming for 45 years and Sherry has been a farm wife for that long also.

Sherry enjoys gardening, reading, and traveling. Some of her favorite places she has traveled to are Hawaii and the Netherlands.

Gary likes going to sale barns. He is a member of the Lions Club and is a Terre Haute Township Trustee. Both Gary and Sherry are active members of the Terre Haute United Methodist Church.
