Proposed Budged Discussed At Illini West July 11th meeting

The Illini West High School Board meeting began with the budget hearing where questions from the public were answered about the proposed budget for the 2007-2008 school year.

Other action taken included, a resolution to consider the issuing of working cash bonds to resolve the cash flow predicament associated with the birth of a new district.

The board also approved the purchase of new athletic equipment, and the proposed policy manual designed for Illini West High School district by Illinois Association of School Boards.

Kim Dietrich was hired as the district treasurer and Betsy Wujek will be offered the Special Education Coordinator position upon approval of the Carthage Elementary District board.

Used lockers were purchased from the old Farmington high school allowing the option to paint and refinish all lockers before the beginning of school.

On a final note the board expressed their thanks to Dave and Angie Ard for spearheading the successful Illini West kick-off celebration held on July 1st at the Illini West campus.

Appreciation was also expressed to the members of the Committee of Ten who through much perseverance helped make Illini West High School district a reality for the members of our community.

The next Illini West School Board meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on July 25th at 96 S. Madison, Carthage, Illinois.
