Meet your neighbors Rod and Laurie Myers.
Rod and Laurie have been married for 26 years. They have two children, Jason and Mariah. Jason is 23 and is currently employed at Target. Mariah is 16 and going to be a junior at Illini West High School.
Laurie grew up in Roseville and graduated from Roseville High School. She then attended Western Illinois University and majored in Elementary Education. She works at La Harpe Elementary School teaching 3rd grade. Next year will be her 28th year teaching.
Rod graduated from Media High School where he grew up, and also went to Western, majoring in Math Science. He now does land surveying for MJH Engineering and Surveying. He also is the owner of Hometown Insurance located on Main Street.
In August the Myers' will have a Foreign Exchange student live with them for the school year. Her name is Leonie Pheiffer and she is from Germany.
Laurie enjoys going on walks and photography. Rod likes to golf and fish in his spare time. They raise Paint horses and Golden Retrievers. In fact, they will have a litter of puppies in August. The Myers' are big Green Bay Packer fans and have received tickets to a game in exchange for a puppy.
