by Holly Willdrick - Quill Reporter

Meet Your Neighbor Lisa Irish, a 2006 graduate of La Harpe High School. During high school Lisa was active in volleyball and softball all four years and served as team captain for both her senior year.

She received the Kyle Johnson Scholarship which she has used to attend Western Illinois University. She has not declared her major at this time but is interested in Special Education and plans to graduate in 2010.

She likes the small town life and would like to stay in the area after graduation.

Lisa recently joined several other girls from the La Harpe area on a missions trip to New Orleans. During this time she helped clean out homes to help families get back in them.

"It was a great experience that I will never forget."

She has also been able to keep in touch with the family she helped and said that they are still living in New Orleans but in a different house.

In her free time she enjoys sports and spending time with her friends.

Lisa has also traveled to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Washington D.C., and New York. While in New York she was able to attend two Broadway Shows. She would have liked to have seen "The Lion King", but it was sold out so she settled for "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Producers".

If handed a ticket to go anywhere she wanted, she said she would go to Hawaii and enjoy the warm tropical weather.

Lisa is the daughter of Todd and Cindy Irish and has one sister Jenny DeVito.

She is the granddaughter of Paul and Beverly Anderson, Diana and the late Ted Irish, and of Arlin and Carol Clover of La Harpe.
