Gladstone Seeks Water Grant

Chad Frederick from WIRC reported that a federal budget had not yet been submitted to Don Burns at Rural Development, therefore, limiting funds for the proposed water grant the village has been seeking.

The board voted to have Frederick finish the grant application and submit it by the deadline of February 20, 2007.

John Roegiers Engineer from Missman, Stanley & Associates presented the permit application for Mayor McKinney to sign for the installation of a water main across township Road 1025 E.

Roegiers will submit the application to the county superintendent.

The board voted to accept the standard form of agreement between the owner and engineer for professional services regarding the village drilling a well, which will be used for blending water with its existing supply.

On a motion by Manes, seconded by Swanson, the board voted to make a $100 donation to Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst.

The board voted not to pay the extra charge by Rhein-schmidts of Burlington, Iowa for the installation of tile at the Community Building.

The board approved that all members in attendance for special meetings, will be paid, including the mayor and clerk.
