Meet Your Neighbor Chris Fechner-NCLMT:CR Chris is a Nationally Certified Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Reflexologist. The name of her new business is "Caring Touch Massage" and it is located at 200 E. Nichols in Stronghurst. Chris is educated in ear candling, reflexology, and massage therapy. She was born in Burlington, Iowa but raised in the Biggsville area. She has a daughter, Felisha (17) who is a junior at West Central High School near Biggsville. Felisha plays the flute in the band and also has a genuine interest in equine massage. After graduation she plans to pursue that field. Chris' father is Ron Higdon of rural Biggsville and she has one sister, Robin Fleming of Biggsville. Chris graduated from Union High School in 1983 and worked for approximately 20 years in a factory. Her recent employment was at Motorola, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. When the Motorola plant sold, and later closed, Chris decided to further her education by attending the Institute of Therapeutic Massage and Wellness in Davenport, Iowa. Chris has over 500 hours of course study. There she received her certification as a massage therapist and reflexologist. She is in the Stronghurst office on Mondays, Tuesdays Thursdays, and the second and fourth Saturday of the month. She also works part-time in Milan at Therapeutic Oasis. When she isn't working, Chris enjoys reading, sewing, cooking and baking. A grand opening is planned for her business on Saturday, February 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. She will serve refreshments and have door prizes and hopes you will come by, meet her, and check out her new business in Stronghurst. |
