Meet Your Neighbor Kevin O'Flaherty who was born in Galway, Ireland.
Kevin is now a Spanish teacher at La Harpe High School. He went to high school in Chicago and attended college at the University of Spain and Western Illinois University.
At the University of Spain he studied Spanish grammar, art, and music and at Western he studied World History.
Kevin has traveled to many places in Europe and South America. He has also taught in schools in Spain and Argentina.
In fact, he met his wife in a school in Argentina that he was working at. She is from Cordoba, Argentina. They now live in Macomb.
Kevin also served in the U.S. Army for three years. In his spare time he likes to listen to music, travel, and meet new people.
He had heard that La Harpe needed a Spanish teacher, so he figured he would take the job since he is going to be living in Macomb for a while.
He says, "The best part about being a teacher is watching the student's progress throughout the years."
