Meet your neighbor, Cindy Wear of Fountain Green. Cindy was born in Urbana, the daughter of Gene and Mary Jo Scanlan. Cindy also has two sisters, Toni Carlisle and Tammi Carroll. Cindy graduated from Carthage High School in 1981 and then graduated from Iowa Wesleyan in 1985 with a degree in Psychology and in 1986 she graduated from Truman State with a masters in counseling. In 1988 she married Charlie Wear of Fountain Green. They have three children, Carlie Wear a freshmen at John Wood Community College, Quincy, Carter Wear and Cody Wear both attending lllini West. Cindy has one step-son Craig, and daughter-in-law, Anita Wear of Carthage, Craig and Anita are both pharmacists. Cindy and her family have been on two exciting vacations, one was a trip to India when Craig and Anita were married and the second is when her daughters went to Europe this summer. Cindy said the trip to Europe was "great". Her favorite two things were going to Venice, Italy, and riding on a gondola, and Amsterdam where she toured Anne Frank's home. Cindy worked for the Mental Heath Center in Carthage for 4 years and is now employed at West Central IL Special Education Coop. Cindy is Behavior Intervention Consultant and works with Carthage, Nauvoo and Dallas City School Districts. Cindy was elected to the La Harpe Unit District 335 School Board and served for the #335 district for 4 years and is now the Vice-President of the La Harpe Elementary District #347. Cindy is a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Fountain Green. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, working outdoors, riding the motorcycle with her husband, going to her children's events and just spending time with her family. |
