Meet Your Neighbor

Meet Your Neighbor Renee Schneider, new district librarian at West Central. Mrs. Schneider has been a teacher previously in the district but started this new position the beginning of this school year.

She lives in Stronghurst but was born in Burlington, Iowa, and raised in Henderson County. She graduated from Union High School in 1983; from Monmouth College in 1987, and from Texas Womens University in Denton, Texas, with her masters degree in 2006.

She is married to Dean who drives a semi for W.W. Transport in Burlington, Iowa.

They have one daughter, Amanda, a freshman at West Central High School and a son, Austin, in the 6th grade at West Central South Campus in Stronghurst.

Her parents are Faye and Suzanne Russell. Faye farms and both Faye and Suzanne also escort loads for W.W. Transport.

She has one brother, Gary (Terri) and nephews, Josh and Ryan; three sisters, Jenny (Taryn), Julie (Bryan), Joni (Chris) and niece Chloe.

Her hobbies are reading, flower gardening, cross stitch and computers.

The last vacation they went on, as a family, was to Disneyland in 2001.

Renee enjoys traveling to Texas once or twice a year to visit her sisters.
