West Central School Board is receiving praise around the community for their "packing the gym" but this time it wasn't a sporting event, but for excellence in academics.
One parent came into the Quill and said it was the first time she could remember that ever happening.
West Central School Board has been making it a policy to recognize students at the beginning of school board meetings for the good things they are doing, in what has been designated as "Good News Items".
This month's meeting parents and family members were invited to witness 125 West Central students for exceeding state standards on the ISAT or the PSAE test.
The meeting is usually held in the elementary cafeteria, but the crowd was so large it was moved to the elementary gymnasium and was still packed, one lady reported. "It was so good to see that kind of praise for our students that was for academics. I've never seen the gym packed before other than sports."
West Central Board, keep up the good work.
