Stop To Enjoy What You Have

Work hard, but stop and enjoy life along the way. There is just too many wonderful people, and too much beauty to let it pass by without enjoying it.

One thing about the "Relay For Life," you have to get back to walking, not driving a car. That gives you wonderful time to visit with others, listen to their stories, and learn of the triumphs, the fear, the emotions, plus the hope people have been given for another day, and perhaps a cure someday for cancer.

Cancer survivors look at life with a lot more appreciation and a lot less complaints.

Also, "Relay" is a good time to teach children about how communities help others, and make a difference when they band together.

Yes, it is a lot of work, but what is hope worth to us? We can't stop hoping to find a cure. Maybe, someday we will be funding your grandchild or mine to research for that cure. Wouldn't it be grand if they did. Do you know what that would mean?

I've been thinking about something Juanita Jarvis told us in church some time ago.

She said that all the answers to our problems are right in front of us. We just have to find them. Her examples were Malaria - it was the mosquito, and penicillin was found from mold on bread.

Do you suppose that we are so busy that we are all overlooking the obvious and can't see the forest for the trees?

If that's the case, let's take time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the details of all that surrounds us. Maybe if we do, and start paying attention to what we have, we will find solutions to some of our biggest problems.
