It seems to me that adults have been handed a lot of responsibilities that affect our children and their future.
I believe that a passion for our children and our future is what makes our communities to be their best.
In La Harpe, Dallas City, and Carthage, the Committee of Ten are doing their due diligence in finding the best situation for their eroding school systems.
What they and the voters do will effect their children and future generations.
The same is true for all of us. We each are responsible for what we bring about in a community.
My point was simple as I addressed the Mayor and the trustees of our village.
Will bringing alcohol into town make it a better environment for our children and our citizens? Does it make sense that we spend money for DARE hoping to avoid a courthouse page with alcohol related arrests, then "present" alcohol into our town just to raise revenue? What is the cost, and the betterment to our community?
