La Harpe City Council Meeting

At the October 9, 2006 meeting of the La Harpe City Council, regular business was conducted beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The minutes from the September meetings, the treasurer's report and bills were approved.

Graves reported on prices for a new or used motor for the boat used at the reservoir to treat the water. A new motor would cost around $2,200 and an older used motor around $600. He will continue to keep the council informed until a replacement motor is found.

The motion was made and seconded to accept the resolution for the housing rehab program grant. A hearing will be held in November upon receiving the grant, and applications will be given to residents who would like to qualify for this rehab grant.

The new tax levy was introduced.

Those answering roll call were Irish, Lovell, Burford, Carpenter, Neff, Stevens, and Brown. Helmers was seated at 7:11 p.m. Bennett was absent.

Also attending the meeting were Tim Graves, Roger Hughes, Erik Krekel, Richard Rasmussen, Wayne Humphrey, and Eric Moe. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.

The next scheduled meeting will be held at the city hall on Monday, October 23, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
