Moment In History

Lomax Township: William Lomax, a native of North Carolina came to Henderson County in 1853 to farm and raise stock.

After a few years he was elected to one term as one of the Associate Justices of the county court. He later joined his son Robert in business and for him the town of Lomax and township is named. Lomax in 1911 had two railroads, C.B.&Q. and Santa Fe running through it, two elevators and three stores.
