Meet Your Neighbor Ralph Grimm, Superintendent of West Central School District #235. He was born in Spring Valley and raised in Tremont. Mr. Grimm graduated from Tremont High School in 1978, attended Illinois Central College in Peoria one year and received his BS and MA from Illinois State University in Normal. He also graduated as an Education Specialist from Western Illinois University. He was a Principal at Carthage, was an Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, and High School Principal/Athletic Director in Manito; and a Principal and Superintendent at Canton. Mr. Grimm was a consultant with the public school system on the Island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands before coming to West Central. He has been married to his wife, Susan for 23 years. They have three sons, Kevin, 20, a sophomore at Illinois Central College in Jacksonville, Daniel, 16, a junior at Canton High School and Jared 9, a 4th grader at Canton Grade School. Superintendent Grimm spends long weekends at his home in Canton and the remainder of the week in Stronghurst doing business for the West Central School District. He enjoys reading, NFL football, golf and NASCAR. His favorite NASCAR drivers are Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. |
