La Harpe City Council Meet

The La Harpe City Council meeting was held Monday, November 13, 2006 7:00 p.m.

According to the minutes submitted by Clerk Carol Stevens, those answering roll call were Irish, Lovell, Helmers, Bennett, Burford, Carpenter, Neff, Stevens, and Brown.

Also, attending the meeting were Tim Graves, Roger Hughes, Jason Torrence, Richard Rasmussen, Wayne Humphrey, and George Russell.

The board learned that their new Christmas decorations have arrived and are now hanging along Main Street.

Mayor Brown reported that he had attended the state legislative meetings in Peoria and Springfield.

George Russell from McClure Engineering was present to discuss the four bids received for baffles at the reservoir. The motion was made to accept the bid from Wells Construction from Rushville for $11,124.00. Motion carried.

Motions were also approved on the following:

• The renewal of Casey's Liquor License.
• Tax Levy Ordinance 2006-7.
• Purchase of a used boat, motor and trailer for $900.00 for use at the city Reservoir to maintain the chemicals in the water. (It was noted that the City's Reservoir supply is down over three feet.)
• October meeting minutes
• Treasurer's Report
• All bills to be paid.

The meeting adjourned at 7:48 p.m.

The next scheduled meeting will be held at the La Harpe City Hall on Monday, November 27, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
