The body of an unidentified male found by duck hunters on the Illinois side of Burlington Island, south of Burlington, Iowa, Saturday, October 25th has been identified.
According to a news release from Henderson County Sheriff Mark Lumbeck, the body of an unidntified male was recovered at 1:30 p.m. by Burlington Police, Illinois Conservation Police, and Henderson County Sheriff's Deputies and was taken to Peoria by Henderson County Coroner Kris Beals on Saturday afternoon.
He has been identified as John Lee Jarvis, 43, of 625 South 8th Street Burlington, IA (formerly of Stronghurst).
Sheriff Lumbeck said that Jarvis had been reported missing from his home since October 10. Lumbeck said that Jarvis had been identified through dental records Monday afternoon in Peoria, where an autopsy had been performed.
The cause of death has not been determined.
Sheriff Lumbeck said that the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, the coroner's office, and Burlington, Iowa Police are investigating.
