Meet your "Little Neighbor", Leighton Johnson. Leighton is 10 years old and in the 4th grade at La Harpe. He is the son of Justin and Mindy Johnson and has two sisters Erica and Karissa.
Leighton recently participated in the Jump Rope for Heart at school. The kids are to raise money for St. Judes and then spend a whole day in the gym jumping rope. Leighton faced the challenge head on and went out in the community to collect donations.
In his door to door efforts he collected an astonishing $200.00. This put him into first place, of all the students that participated. Along with 13 other students that raised over $100.00, he got to toss a hand full of whipped cream at a teacher.
When asked what his favorite part of participating was, he said "raising money to help kids with cancer at St. Judes".
In Leighton's free time he enjoys racing 4-wheelers, riding his bike, soccer, playing his play station, basketball, swimming, and even playing with his sisters.
