Meet Your Neighbor Marvin Miller, born and raised in Keokuk, Iowa.

Marvin graduated in 1982 from Kara Baptist Academe in Alexandria, Missouri. He attended Hannibal Lagrange College for one semester before playing base guitar in a band from Council Bluffs, Iowa.

He moved to Des Moines, Iowa for a year while playing with the band. It was during this time that he was introduced to his wife Christal Carpenter, who was playing keyboard for one of the bands he played with.

They were married on April 12, 1990 and moved to La Harpe, Christal's hometown. Marvin was working in Macomb and Christal in Burlington, IA, so it made sense to settle in La Harpe.

Over the years Marvin worked for Whalen Manufacturing for 10 years, General Electric, at Methode did and did construction. Since 2001, he has been employed at American Ordinance.

He and Christal have four children, Haylee (14), Dakota (11), Tanner (5), and Phillip (2). He keeps busy with family and church as he and Christal have been in charge of the praise and worship for the past six years. He is playing lead guitar and banjo with "The On Stage Band" that has been playing at the clubhouse and will be part of the Summerfest entertainment this year.

He enjoys taking pictures, wood working, crafts, as well as music.
